MODERN WINE ANALYSIS

Vinoquant Series for the rapid, cost-effective and exact wine analysis

Our Vinoquant products can be classified as comparatively inexpensive, rapid, precise and very practical for the daily work place. Additional benefits include: Three analyses with the same heating plate "a", two analyses with the same distilling head "b" and with the same cooler "c". Heating plate, distilling head and cooler only have to be purchased once only, of course.  Due to the many advantages we have been selling them in very high numbers. K 1165-1

For the quick and easy measurement of the alcoholic strength (ethanol content) of wine, must, sparkling wine and liquer and the determination of extract in wine. The excellent alcohol measuring system with many advantages that operates on the basis of the standard refrerence method (Distillation).

If you need further information please follows the link Vinoquant 3

If the optionally offered optimal parts and components are used, measuring accuracy for alcoholic strength (i.e. +/- 0.15 % vol.) is - at least - comparable with that of the standard reference method (distillation plus use of pycnometers).

As this distillation apparatus can be heated on any kitchen stove, there is, on principle, neither any need for an extra burner nor for any type of holding fixture. A typical distillation cycle will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. After that, a Euro Class III alcoholo-meter (pursuant to DIN 12803 - i.e. with a measuring span of 5 % vol.) is used to measure the alcoholic strength of the distillate in a stand cylinder. To obtain accurate measuring results, the user must make sure that the original sample liquid, the distillate obtained from that sample liquid and the distilled water (which is needed to fill up the distillate) have been heated to the same temperature - which must not necessarily be 20 °C - and that the thermal equilibrium so achieved is maintained over a span of time of at least 15 minutes. If time is not important to the user, that equalization of the temperatures of the afore-mentioned liquids can even be achieved by, for example, storing them at room temperature over a prolonged period of time. However, any alcoholometer readings that have been taken at a temperature other than 20 °C must be temperature-corrected. This correction can be accomplished by means of a temperature-correction nomogram or by using an existing official alcohol table or similar information. A considerably quicker, safer and far more convenient performance of analyses can be achieved if the especially recommended parts and components (cf. at the end of this brochure) are used.

Vinoquant 3

The following can be determined:

Alcohol (ethanol) and

extract (calculation acc. to Tabarie)

in liqueur, mash, sparkling wine, wine and beverages similar to wine.

  • Basis: distillation = reference method

Sophisticated distillation apparatus (distillate can be heated on the kitchen stove: no stand is required;

water hoses resistant to high temperatures: no baking on of distillate and cooler due to the use of an easily separable ground joint)

  • No tempering of sample and distillate to 20° C necessary.
  • Highly accurate, meets the analysis accuracy requirements of the European Union both for wine as well as for spirits.
  • Distillation time: alcohol in approx. 9 minutes (with hot ring).
  • Without highly toxic chromium reagents. Hot ring and hydrometer (e.g. alcoholometer) are not included. The parts required must be ordered so that work can begin immediately, e.g. a suitable alcoholometer, a temperature correction nomogram, the patented cardanic stand and the hot ring.

Vinoquant 4

The following can be measured:

Free and total sulphurous acid

in sparking wine, wine and beverages similar to wine.

  • Basis: titration with a precision syringe
  • Very low use of chemicals therefore environmentally friendly
  • Also for the darkest red wines – decoloration in seconds
  • With thermometer for precisely determining free S02
  • Reagents for many examinations:

White wine: approx. 75 red wine: approx. 20

Vinoquant 4 a (not depicted) is used for precisely determining the reductones which in the iodine titration present here simulate too high a sulphurous acid value.

Vinoquant 4E

Same as Vinoquant 4 but fully automatic. Very precise.

  • Very low use of chemicals therefore environmentally friendly
  • Long shelf life of the chemicals
  • With CO2 removal for determining precise acidic values
  • With thermometer for removing the CO2
  • With pH indicator paper for checking the colour change
  • Reagents for many examinations: approx. 80
